We are proud to announce four new Leica M lenses! These three Safari lenses and one glossy black paint lens are the same as their current M cousins in all technical aspects. The matte olive finish of the Safari lenses is the perfect complement to the Safari cameras, and the glossy black paint is the classic Leica look:

Originally introduced in 1959, this standard lens is making a grand return, enjoying a renaissance as it joins the Leica "Classic Line."

• New optical design of a classic Leica lens: Replicating the distinguished bokeh from the original lens released 1959, while also supporting Leica’s high-resolution sensors, thanks to new manufacturing techniques, modern glass elements and lens coatings.
• Homage to Leica’s lens heritage: The barrel and optical design are based on the first versions of the 50mm Summilux lens; the optical design is based on the second version of the 50 Summilux lens, made between 1961 – 1992.
• Designed to the highest standard: Composed of more than 100 different parts, this brass lens is handmade in Germany, with a chrome-plated surface finish. This lens is not a limited edition and is part of Leica’s current lens portfolio.
• Unique image rendering: Creating images with a wide-open aperture allows the lens to produce incredibly soft bokeh, while also being very sharp and showcasing low optical distortions when stopped down.

The Noctilux’s legendary status and unique imaging aesthetic offers soft, almost dreamlike quality that creates an unmistakable look with an exquisite bokeh. This iconic reissue is very close to the original computation, and benefits from modern optic- and lens-construction techniques. Like the original 1966 lens, which was the world's very first production aspherical lens with hand-ground aspheres, this new Noctilux-M is offered in the modern glossy black paint finish and recreates the look and feel of the original, legendary Noctilux f1,2 lens that is so treasured by collectors today...
