About Klaus Maria Einwanger:
"Most people associate cab driving in these cities with iconic vehicles: The Yellow Cabs in New York City, the black limousines of London, and the shiny polished Tokyo cabs. The personal stories of the drivers in these cities has inspired internationally renowned photographer Klaus Maria Einwanger to explore the daily existential worries of New Yorkers, the intrepidity of Londoners, and the distinguished pride of Tokyo drivers in his exhibit "Taxi Drivers - Written In Their Faces"
An aesthetic and equally cosmopolitan discovery of a seemingly mundane microcosm...
The authentic portraits of the drivers also show the recent developments caused by ride-sharing apps like Uber. Einwanger's work visually documents the slow decline in values, masterfully photographed with Leica cameras. The faces portrayed tell of hope lost and desperate battles fought but also of combative spirit and creative protest. His homage to the cab drivers of this world is both personal and universal - and, as he likes to point out, 'written all over their faces.'"
Klaus Maria Einwanger has been working as a freelance photographer for over thirty years at his own company, KME Studios, based in Rosenheim, Hamburg and Berlin. The internationally renowned and award-winning image creator likes to use the camera to tell stories that seem important to him alongside his advertising work. His emblematic photographs have been included in about 100 books and shown at exhibitions in Germany and other parts of the world. He feels at home surrounded by people, but also enjoys the solitude of the mountains, where he lives and works. His wild mane and likeable Bavarian accent are his trademarks. He observes, reflects and makes his mark.
He is a member of AOP (Association of Photographers), Professional member of BFF (Association of Freelance Photographers and Film Creators), Germany, and is the Director of the BFF Academy, and Appointed member of DGPh (German Society of Photography).
