Join us for a weekend of Leica learning, photography and inspiration

Friday evening the Leicapalooza begins!
We’ll meet one another and schmooze over a casual, included dinner, where we’ll discuss the weekend and its possibilities. And, we’ll divvy up any gear you might like to use over the weekend.

Saturday morning it’s the Leicapalooza we’ve all been waiting for these last two years.
We’ll enjoy a brief artist talk with inspiring images and Leica-specific educational info, followed by an afternoon/evening photo walk around Chicago – the Paris of the Midwest. We’ll have some goals, too, for the walkabout – tailored to each participant. This is your Leica weekend, and we create a bespoke program for you and your goals.

Along our way, we’ll learn about exposure, composition and some street-shooting tips and tricks. We’ll discuss the qualities that make a photo compelling, and how to make our own compelling images in our everyday lives, and when we’re out on safari with our camera.

Led by Tamarkin Camera’s Dan Tamarkin, this photo walk offers portraiture, street photography, architectural photography – and all the sights and sounds that Chicago has to offer!

Dinner is on our own, but we’ll probably sit down together somewhere casual and talk about the day and anything else we wish. Probably we’ll talk Leica…

Sunday, we’ll have memory cards brimming over with images.
We meet for a portfolio review and discussion of Saturday’s images. We’ll share our images and constructive critiques, as well as have an open forum to answer all Leica and photo questions. In this welcoming and nurturing atmosphere, we can learn from each other and from seasoned Leica photographers.

We’ll enjoy an informal, included lunch while we talk and look over our images.

We end the program in the early afternoon so that visitors have some free time to enjoy the city and use what we’ve learned over the weekend... it’s your Leicapalooza! And it all happens this summer, at Tamarkin Camera – the Leica Haven.

The intimate nature of Leicapalooza means that the weekend program is limited to only 10 participants, so everyone can learn hands-on and receive direct attention. This is one of the very best ways to learn about Leica and photography, in a casual, informative, and nurturing atmosphere.
