Bodo Kloes, a Wetzlar artist, is well known for his etchings, illustrations, and graphic design, and in this work has combined three of the touchstones of the incomparable Leica camera, the most successful design in the history of 35mm photography: Wetzlar, Germany, the home of E. Leitz; Oskar Barnack, the inventor of the Leica; and the Ur-Leica, the camera that literally changed the course of camera design, the nature of photographic art, and 20th century photo-journalism.
