TAMARKIN PHOTOGRAPHICA

Tamarkin Photographica is America's foremost auction company specializing in fine collectible photo equipment.

In the fall of 1996 we held our first auction, and since then we have made it a biennial event, in the spring and in the fall, and we have auctioned over a $2,000,000 of collectible camera gear.

Our fees for the buyer and for the seller are the lowest in the world auction market and we have attracted major collectible items like the black Leica MP-2, Leica 72 half-frame, Leica B Dialset Compur, black Leica MP, Leica 250, Zeiss Hologon camera, pre-war Zeiss Olympic Sonnars, black Nikon, 50mm Nikkor f1,1 & Micro-Nikkor, SP Motor, and many other interesting and rare Leica, Nikon, Zeiss, Canon, Alpa, Rollei, and Kodak collectibles.

All of us who have been collecting in the last thirty years during the collectibles boom, particularly in Leica collectibles, have enjoyed the spirit of the hunt, the assembling of camera collections that match our enthusiasms and love of photography, and, for some, the desire to make our hobbies into sound investments.

What makes more sense than a rare camera auction as part of your estate planning or, simply, your wish to achieve the highest possible price for your collectibles?

Instead of selling your favorite pieces at a wholesale price to a camera dealer, consigning them to a fine camera auction held by Tamarkin Photographica promises the highest return with most convenience for you.

Six advantages to selling your collectibles in one of our auctions:

1 Tamarkin Photographica will sell your collectibles through competitive, open world-wide bidding-the surest means of achieving the highest price commensurate with market values.
2 We have a modest and attractive fee structure that benefits both the buyer and the seller. The seller's cost is 15% (plus a modest fee if the buyer uses a credit card) , and the buyer's fee is only 15%. In no other way could you effectively market your collectibles and at the same time have such modest selling expenses.
3 Tamarkin Photographica's beautifully illustrated catalogues, mailing lists, and advertisements reach collectors wherever there is interest in collectibles, and we have been quite successful in attracting buyers here in America as well as from camera collectors in England, Japan, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, France, Greece, Korea, Austria, Sweden and other countries. Our auction catalogues are handsome, clear, and informative. In fact, for many collectors they have become reference tools themselves.
4 We offer free appraisals by acknowledged collectibles experts who have been buying and selling collectibles for over thirty years, and we cooperate with you in making a sensible "reserve" price on your collectibles so that you can be assured that not one of your collectibles will be sold at too low a price.
5 For major collections we are pleased to travel to you to make an accurate inventory and to undertake the packing and shipping to our offices. Of course every consignment to a Tamarkin Photographica auction is fully insured while it is in our possession.
6 We feel that we can do better for you than what you might do yourself on the internet. While the internet is fine, E-Bay, and other auction sites, are not without annoying hassles and glitches. But we think that we can better reach high-paying customers than you can on the internet. Why? Because we sell to the final buyer, the collector who is buying because he loves to collect--not the dealers and auction "pickers" who flood the internet.

Tamarkin Photographica holds rare camera auctions twice year, in the spring and in the fall. We have held our auctions in New York, St. Louis, Tucson, Chicago, Boston, and Denver before the annual meetings of the Leica Historical Society of America.
